Happy Hump Day!!

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while :-/  My family and I did some traveling this weekend; we went to Köln, Germany and Cochem, Germany.  First we went to the chocolate museum in Köln, what an awesome experience!  We got to see and learn how chocolate is made, of course we got free samples and purchased some yummy chocolate to take home.  Second we went to down town Köln.  My boys were taken back by how beautiful and huge the Kölner Dom cathedral is.  The cathedral is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and has the second-tallest spires and largest façade of any church in the world. The choir has the largest height to width ratio, 3.6:1, of any medieval church.  After checking out the Dom and buying some souvenirs we headed down the main street walk platz and of course a visit to the Lego store was a MUST!  Nate and Lil J got to make their own Lego guys and Jax got a Duplo lighting McQueen set.  By this time we were famished we found a nice little German restaurant just off the main street.  It was the first German restaurant I have even been to take served breakfast items, yes we all ate breakfast for dinner :)  Are bellies were full and we were exhausted so we headed home.

On Sunday we went to Cochem a beautiful little village on the Mosel River.  We hiked up to the castle what an amazing hike such unique buildings and vineyards.  We took a guided tour of the castle I must say it is one of the most beautiful castles I have been in yet.  Here is a link to the castle history if you are interested.  http://www.reichsburg-cochem.de/english/history.htm  The castle has a mascot and if you touch her belly and make a wish your wish will come true.  Yep we all touched her belly and made wishes!  After that we walked the village and checked out some of the shops, most were closed it was Sunday.  It was a short day and visit because of it being a school night but we had an amazing time!

I started spin class yesterday, WOW, that is a GREAT workout and I will keep going to the class until we leave for Kansas.  I am hoping our new base’s gym offers a spin class, as I would like to continue to doing the class.  It is important to always change up what you are doing to keep your body and metabolism guessing.  This afternoon I will weight train and we are having vegetarian stir fry for dinner.  I will post the recipe after we try it.

I still need to post why we decided to change our lifestyle, I am working on it :)  Happy Hump Day Everyone!!
